ANTI-BODY (Part II) - THE FAIR TRADE MOVIE

Seriously, every person should see THE FAIR TRADE! Taken from their site: The Fair Trade movie is an innovative documentary film by Burning Heart Productions director Lauralee Farrer recounting the story of successful fair trade entrepreneur Tamara Johnston. Johnston, devastated by the tragic death of her fiancé, makes a bargain with God to postpone suicide in exchange for a meaningful life. She quits her job at Dreamworks, her twin sister Shelby quits her job teaching art history at California State University at Los Angeles, and brother-in-law Steven quits his job at JPL in order to spend their days making soap for their start up fair trade skincare company Anti-Body. Johnston becomes an activist for human rights and social justice causes, but despair over her loss remains unabated for several years. As she nears the deadline of her bargain, a trip to Kenya for Heifer International allows her to visit the fair trade co-op in Togo, Africa, from which Anti-Body buys its organic shea butter. There, she finds a surprising answer to what is required of her in exchange for a sustainable life.
I lost touch with Tamara, and Shelby about 4-5 years ago. It amazes me how much their lives have flourished in such a short time. I believe seeing The Fair Trade movie will challenge each person regarding one's own passion, and purpose in this life. I certainly felt the longtime deep desires of my heart begin to clamor for their time to be "now". However, recently, I walked into a random store, and hanging on the wall was this huge plaque reading, "BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED." I smiled, knowing His answer to my daily questions of "when can I . . . ?" Peace - I love it. Like her twin sister, Shelby, Tamara is a beautiful, complex, and gracious person.

Tamara, you were right - the sun was too high for the rembrandt lighting - next time.
The black and white photos were taken with my grandfather's twin lens medium format camera.

Thank you Tamara, for your patience, and your time. I thoroughly enjoy our time together!

I just watched the movie today, thanks so much Monique. What a wonderfully told, real life story. She really began to give out of her own need. That's so lovely to see.
I wish them all the success they can handle. I'll show this movie to as amny people as I can.
