Sing To The Well CD

Our friend Audrey, Sean and I were sitting around eating to our delight as we watched a brief segment on the BBC on the child labor situation in Africa. We were all very moved by the plight of these young children working long hours to earn not even enough for one dinner. Still, one eight year old, unable to go to school, dreams about becoming a pastor one day. We all felt helpless and left wondering what can we do to help countries that stuggle for food and water. Sean then thought about Martin and Rebekah Neil's project called "Sing To The Well". In 2003 they visited a small village in Tanzania, which was experiencing a severe drought. Martin learned from the villagers that in extreme drought conditions, the elderly would shut themselves in their huts so that what little food that was available would be given to the young. That is when they began their project "Sing To The Well". This CD/DVD documents "a story of a village, its people and its songs, whose simple existence is determined each year by the weather." 100% of all sales of these CDs goes directly to building wells to help support this farming community.
